SRH IPL 2025: Travis Head, Pat Cummins among six players retained by Sunrisers Hyderabad, here is full list

Sunrisers Hyderabad retained five players ahead of the mega auction, including three foreign players. The players retained have had immense impact on the team's fortunes last season.

Wicket-keeper batter Heinrich Klaasen is the highest paid player in this year's IPL after the retention announcements at Rs 23 crore.

SRH 2024 season

Sunrisers Hyderabad was one of the teams which had asked for more retentions during the owners’ meeting with the BCCI, and the reason is now known.

The team, which finished runner-up in the previous season, would have had a tough time choosing its top players. They had stellar contributions from overseas recruits like captain Pat Cummins, Travis head, and Heinrich Klaasen.

Head, along with opening partner Abhishek Sharma set new records almost every time they were together on the pitch. From breaching the 250-run mark on several occasions, to chasing 166 within 10 overs, the duo was the key to SRH's batting success in 2024. The opening exploits were then utilised by wicket-keeper batter Klaasen, who provided the team with explosive finishes. Abhishek Reddy proved to be the find of the season.

The team also had a core group of Indian pacers with Bhuvneshwar Kumar, T Natarajan and Umran Malik. However, all three are injury prone. They would want to target younger pacers in the auction.
