Smriti Mandhana becomes first Indian woman to hit tons in all formats, smashes maiden T20I century against England
Smriti Mandhana, India's stand-in captain, scored her first T20I century against England at Trent Bridge. She reached the milestone in 51 balls with 14 fours and 3 sixes. Harmanpreet Kaur was rested, so Mandhana led the team. Shafali Verma and Sne...

Mandhana's blazing ton, which came off just 51 balls, also made her the first Indian woman to score centuries in all three international formats, Tests, ODIs, and T20Is. She reached the three-figure mark with a boundary off Lauren Bell in the 16th over and her knock included 14 boundaries and 3 sixes, showcasing the full range of her batting prowess.
With this, she became only the second Indian woman to hit a T20I century. The first was Harmanpreet Kaur, who had smashed a 51-ball 103 against New Zealand during the 2018 T20 World Cup.
With regular skipper Harmanpreet Kaur rested due to a precautionary head injury, Mandhana stepped up both as leader and batter.
Mandhana’s hundred is now her highest individual score in T20 Internationals, surpassing her previous best of 87 (56 balls) against Ireland in 2023.
Opening the innings, she played with fluent timing and aggressive intent, anchoring India’s innings and punishing the English bowlers with a mix of classical strokeplay and smart innovation.
This match also marked the return of Shafali Verma and Sneh Rana to the T20I setup, and the debut of several new faces. But it was Mandhana’s knock that stole the spotlight, announcing not just her return to top form, but also underlining her credentials as a match-winner in the shortest format.
