"Tim Paine has been appointed captain of the Australian team and Matthew Renshaw, Joe Burns and Glenn Maxwell will replace the three players charged in the Test squad," CEO of Cricket Australia said.

"Steve Smith, David Warner and Cameron Bancroft have been charged after it was found they had prior knowledge of the ball tampering incident. No one else was aware," James Sutherland, CEO of Cricket Australia said in Johannesburg.
"Tim Paine has been appointed captain of the Australian team and Matthew Renshaw, Joe Burns and Glenn Maxwell will replace the three players charged in the Test squad," Sutherland said.
He also said that team coach Darren Lehmann has not resigned and will continue to coach the Aussie men's team.
Steve Smith has been banned for one Test by the ICC for his role in a plot that saw team-mate Cameron Bancroft tamper with the ball by using a yellow sticky tape during the third Test at Newlands.
