Punjab Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants Playing 11: Will LSG and PBKS make changes in the middle table battle?
Punjab Kings will face Lucknow Super Giants in a crucial encounter at Dharamshala. PBKS, led by Shreyas Iyer and boosted by openers Arya and Singh, need middle-order contributions. LSG, under Rishabh Pant, struggle with inconsistent form and over-...

PBKS have been led brilliantly by Shreyas Iyer. The openers, Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh, have been in top form and have been given brisk starts, while the captain himself has been contributing crucial runs at number 3. However, a major concern lies in the middle order as not much contributions have been made. Shashank Singh has been struggling to get going in the last few matches, while Josh Inglis has not given them a big knock. The injury to Glenn Maxwell has ruled him out for the remainder of the tournament.
The team’s bowling has been reliable, with pacers Arshdeep Singh and Marco Jansen being the pick of the bowlers. Spinner Yuzvendra Chahal, who picked a hattrick in the previous match, will also be high on confidence. However, the search for the third pacer continues as they have juggled between Azmatullah Omarzai, Xavier Bartlett and Vyshak Vijaykumar.
The Rishabh Pant-led LSG have been inconsistent throughout the season, having won and lost five matches each. They are also a top-heavy side, with dependence on Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooaran for the bulk of runs. However, Marsh and Pooran have lost form as the tournament has progressed. Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad have provided power down the order. The worry is with Pant and Miller, who have barely contributed in the tournament so far.
The bowling has also been a big cause of concern as the pacers have leaked runs regularly. Shardul Thakur, who started with a bang, has now been dropped, while Avesh Khan and Akash Deep have leaked runs. The addition of Mayank Yadav is a positive. Mystery spinner Digvesh Rathi has been their key bowler this season even as Ravi Bishnoi continues to struggle with his rhythm.
