"Rishabh Pant is not fit for West Indies series, hopefully he will be available for home Tests against South Africa," Agarkar added.

After the West Indies tour to India, the squad will gear up for its Australia tour scheduled from October 19 to November 8. The Australian series would include 3 ODI matches in Perth, followed by 5 T20 matches in Melbourne.

"Bumrah is ready and keen to play both Tests against West Indies," the chairman added. "We want best for Bumrah but team always comes first. We have to be careful with big tournaments around."

Regular vice-captain Rishabh Pant, who fractured his foot during the England series, is yet to regain full fitness and therefore was not available for selection.
