Shreyas Iyer leads from front as Punjab Kings storm into IPL 2025 final

With magnificent stroke-play and composure under pressure, Shreyas Iyer played a masterful captain’s knock — an unbeaten 87 off just 41 balls, including 5 fours and 8 sixes, to take his team into the final of the 2025 IPL, where they will face Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

Earlier in the innings, while Punjab was chasing, Hardik Pandya delivered a crucial breakthrough by dismissing Josh Inglis, who was threatening to take the game away from Mumbai Indians with a quickfire 38 off just 21 balls. Trent Boult and Ashwani Kumar also chipped in with a wicket each to keep the pressure on Punjab.

After being put in to bat first, Mumbai Indians posted an impressive total of 203 for 6 in their 20 overs. Tilak Varma and Suryakumar Yadav played pivotal roles, scoring 44 runs each and forging a valuable 72-run partnership for the third wicket to stabilize the innings. Towards the end, Naman Dhir provided the finishing flourish with a blistering 37 off 18 balls, helping MI cross the 200-run mark.
