SCA expressed deep grief at the sad demise of BCCI President Dalmiya and termed his contribution as administrator to the world cricket as immeasurable.

RAJKOT: Saurashtra Cricket Association and its governing body today expressed deep grief at the sad demise of BCCI President Jagmohan Dalmiya and termed his contribution as administrator to the world cricket as immeasurable.

"Dalmiya's sad demise is a huge loss not only to Indian cricket but also to international cricket," SCA honorary secretary, Niranjan Shah said.

"He (Dalmiya) will be remembered with feelings of admiration for his significant and immeasurable contribution to the promotion, prestige, popularity and glory of Indian cricket at the international level," Shah said.

Shah, who also served as BCCI's honorary secretary when Dalmiya was president of BCCI said, "I would fondly cherish the memories of tenure as BCCI honorary secretary under very able guidance of Dalmiya."

The SCA governing body also paid tributes to Dalmiya, who passed away yesterday.

Shah has left to Kolkata to attend the final rites of the departed soul, said Himanshu Shah, SCA media manager said.

The 75-year-old Dalmiya passed away at a Kolkata city hospital following a massive cardiac arrest. He is survived by his wife Chadralekha, daughter Vaishali and son Abhishek.
