In a huge relief for Indian cricket fans, Team India captain Rohit Sharma finally found his groove on Sunday during the second ODI against England, lighting up Barabati Stadium in Cuttack with a stunning display of strokeplay as he hit 119 off 90 balls with 12 fours and 7 sixes.

Rohit sent a clear message to the cricketing world by dispatching deliveries to all corners of the ground, signaling that he is back in top form ahead of the Champions Trophy. With India aiming for an unassailable 2-0 lead against England, his return to form couldn’t have come at a better time.

Rohit Sharma had been enduring a prolonged struggle with form since the start of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy (BGT) in Australia, where he managed to score only 31 runs across five innings.

Sharma's disappointing performances raised concerns about his batting rhythm, ultimately leading the Indian captain to take the tough decision of dropping himself for the final Test.
