Riyan Parag makes a dream ODI debut, picks three wickets, becomes first male cricketer from Assam to play for India

Riyan Parag made an impressive debut in One Day Internationals (ODI) for India by picking up 3 wickets in just six overs. He also became the first male cricketer from Assam to achieve this milestone. The 22-year-old all-rounder debuted against Sri Lanka at the R Premadasa Stadium in Colombo. He received his cap from Virat Kohli and has now become the 256th ODI cap for India. Parag was brought into the playing XI for the third ODI, replacing Arshdeep Singh, as the Indian team, led by Rohit Sharma, aims to avoid a series defeat in the final match of the three-match series.

The Indian playing XI for the third ODI comprises Rohit Sharma as captain, Shubman Gill, Virat Kohli, Rishabh Pant as wicketkeeper, Shreyas Iyer, Riyan Parag, Shivam Dube, Axar Patel, Washington Sundar, Kuldeep Yadav, and Mohammed Siraj.

On the other side, Sri Lanka's playing XI for the match includes Pathum Nissanka, Avishka Fernando, Kusal Mendis as wicketkeeper, Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka as captain, Janith Liyanage, Kamindu Mendis, Dunith Wellalage, Maheesh Theekshana, Jeffrey Vandersay, and Asitha Fernando.
