He strongly refuted the rumors, labeling them as "fake news."As the Delhi Capitals (DC) captain, Pant's position within the team remains a hot topic, especially as IPL franchises gear up for the 2025 auction.

IPL 2025 Auction
Teams can retain a maximum of six players, either through retention or the Right to Match (RTM) option, with a maximum of five capped players (Indian and Overseas) and two uncapped players allowed.The auction purse for IPL 2025 has been set at Rs 120 crore, with the total salary cap—including auction purse, incremental performance pay, and match fees—rising to Rs 146 crore, a significant increase from the Rs 110 crore cap in 2024.
This cap will further rise to Rs 151 crore in 2026 and Rs 157 crore in 2027, making the upcoming auctions even more competitive.
