Ashwin achieved this feat during Chennai Super Kings' (CSK) clash against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, when he dismissed Devdutt Padikkal to take his IPL wicket tally to 182.
Ashwin, who made a high-profile return to CSK after a decade for ₹9.75 crore in IPL 2025, now sits ahead of Narine, who has 181 wickets in the tournament.

However, he bounced back strongly, dismissing Padikkal, who had been striking the ball fluently for 27 off 14 balls.
