Ravi Shastri to continue as team director till T20 World Cup in 2016

The CAC of the BCCI consists of former India captains Sachin Tendulkar, Sourav Ganguly, former test cricketer VVS Laxman, Dalmiya and Thakur.

NEW DELHI: The Indian cricket board today said that former India spinner Ravi Shastri will continue as team director of the Indian cricket team till the ICC World T20 in 2016. It has also extended the terms of assistant coaches Sanjay Bangar (batting), B Arun (bowling) and R Sridhar (fielding) for the same period.

"Based on the recommendations of the Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC), the BCCI has extended the appointment of Mr Ravi Shastri as the Team director of the Indian Cricket Team till the ICC World T20 2016. Acknowledging the performance of the Indian Cricket team and the efforts of the coaching staff in recent times, the CAC endorsed the extension of their tenure," said a release from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

The statement said that BCCI president Jagmohan Dalmiya and secretary Anurag Thakur appreciated the work done by the coaching staff and accepted the decision unanimously.
