Rajasthan Royals

Rajasthan Royals won the inaugural season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) in 2008 but the IPL journey has not been the same for Rajasthan Royals ever since. The franchise has not seen success for 16 seasons now.

Rajasthan Royals came close to winning the title in 2022, but lost to debutants Gujarat Titans. They missed out the playoffs narrowly in IPL 2023 and finished third in 2024.

In the previous IPL season, Rajasthan Royals won eight matches and lost just five, with one match being washed out. The team heavily depended on the Indian middle order core that included captain Sanju Samson, who had his best ever IPL season and young Assam player Riyan Parag.

Rajasthan Royals had also assembled a fearsome bowling attack with India’s two premier spinners in Yuzvendra Chahal and Ravichandran Ashwin. It also had Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma as their key pacers.

Ahead of the 2025 IPL season, Rajasthan Royals signed India T20 World Cup winning coach Rahul Dravid as their head coach, and will hope for the Indian legend to assemble a formidable team.
