BENGALURU: Lunch break was taken on day two of the second cricket Test between India and South Africa without a ball being bowled due to wet outfield and consistent rain, here today.

The play looked set to begin at 10:30am but five minutes before the rescheduled start time, skies opened up again, forcing groundsmen to covers the pitch.

As the time passed, it was no more just drizzle as heavy downpour started to lash the M Chinnaswamy ground.

Puddles of water were formed and umpires were left with no choice to but take lunch at 12:30pm.

Replying to South Africa's 214 all out, India had ended the day one at 80 for no loss.
