Only 35 overs were bowled on stop-start first day with Bangladesh managing 107-3 after being put into in overcast conditions.
On Friday, rain delayed the start by an hour and then bad light forced the players off the field only nine over after lunch. Mominul Haque, on 40, and Mushfiqur Rahim, on six, are at the crease. Heavy downpour followed and the officials called stumps after just 166 minutes of play.
Indian pacer Akash Deep removed the Bangladesh openers inside the first hour of play. Off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin sent back skipper Najmul Hossain Shanto, for 31, in the third over after lunch.
India played the same team as the first Test, while Bangladesh made two changes, bringing in spinner Taijul Islam and pacer Khaled Ahmed for the fast bowling duo of Taskin Ahmed and Nahid Rana.
India lead the two-match Test series 1-0 after beating the visitors by 280 runs at Chennai. The hosts are looking for full points from this series to maintain their top stop on the World Test Championship table.
