President Pranab Mukherjee congratulates CWG medal winners

NEW DELHI: President Pranab Mukherjee today congratulated shooters and weight lifters who have won medals during 20th Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland.

Mukherjee congratulated Abhinav Bindra, Malaika Goel and Santoshi Matsa for winning the Gold Medal in Men's 10m Air Rifle event, Silver Medal in shooting and Bronze Medal in the weightlifting event in the women's 53 kg category respectively.

"In individual messages, the President congratulated and wished them further success in the future," President's Press Secretary Venu Rajamony said in a statement.

With the addition of three more medals from the shooting and weightlifting events, India's overall medals tally climbed to 10 after winning seven medals on the opening day.
