President congratulates K Srikanth for winning Swiss Open

NEW DELHI: President Pranab Mukherjee has congratulated ace Indian shuttler Kidambi Srikanth for winning the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold Badminton Championship in Basel, Switzerland.
In his message, the President said, "Hearty congratulations and best wishes on your winning the Swiss Open Grand Prix Gold Championship in Badminton.
"As the first Indian to win this title, you have set a new benchmark of success for Badminton players. The whole country joins your family and you in celebrating this remarkable achievement.
"I look forward to your winning for India many more such laurels in the future," he added.
World No. 4 Srikanth won the USD 120,000 Swiss Open after defeating defending champion Viktor Alexson of Denmark, ranked sixth in the world, 21-15 12-21 21-14 in a thrilling 47-minute summit clash last Sunday.
