Expressing his joy over meeting the championship team at his residence, 7 Lok Kalyan Marg (LKM), Prime Minister Modi had a spirited discussion about their journey through the ICC tournament.
Prime Minister Modi shared the experience on the social media platform 'X', stating, "An excellent meeting with our Champions! Hosted the World Cup winning team at 7, LKM and had a memorable conversation on their experiences through the tournament."
The Prime Minister's Office released a video, capturing the lighthearted moments of PM's interaction with players, where they were seated in a circle with Modi. Rohit Sharma, the team captain, sat to the right of the Prime Minister, with head coach Rahul Dravid on his left.
The players were attired in special jerseys bearing the word 'CHAMPIONS' and two stars above the Team India crest, symbolising their two T20 World Cup triumphs. The atmosphere was jovial, reflecting the players' happiness as they engaged with the Prime Minister.
During the interaction, the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Roger Binny, and Secretary Jay Shah presented Prime Minister Modi with a personalised Team India jersey. The jersey prominently displayed 'NAMO' and the number '1', representing a gesture of appreciation and respect towards the Prime Minister.
