Paris Olympics 2024: Redemption for Ramita Jindal, heartbreak for Elavenil in women's 10 m air rifle shooting qualifiers

Indian women shooter Ramita Jindal qualified in the singles 10 m air rifle event, while Elavenil Valarivan narrowly missed her spot. Jindal climbed to 5th spot with 631.5, while Valarivan missed her medal chance with a 9.8 shot.

A mixed day for the Indian women shooters as Ramita Jindal managed to qualify in the singles 10 m air rifle event on Sunday, whereas Elavenil Valarivan narrowly missed her spot.

After a tragic 1 point loss in the mixed 10 m air rifle qualifiers with Arjun Babuta, Ramita rose to the 5th spot with 631.5.

For Elavenil, her penultimate shot cost her the qualification to play for a medal. With a 9.8 shot on the 59th bullet, the 24-year-old shooter slid to the 10th spot and ending her Olympic dream.

On July 29 at 1 PM IST, Ramita, 20, will be playing for the medals round.
