Olympics 2024 Medals: United States top medal tally list, followed by China; Check list here

The Paris Olympics 2024 ended on Sunday, a solid campaign of over 16 days, featuring over 10,000 athletes from around the globe competing for podium positions and a place in Olympic history.

The United States topped the medals table at the Paris Olympics with 40 golds after the final title was decided on Sunday, finishing above China only by virtue of their 44 silvers.

China, who were the last team apart from the U.S. to top the standings when they did it on home soil at the 2008 Beijing Games, also won 40 golds but managed only 27 silvers.


The U.S. women's basketball team secured their country's pre-eminence by edging host nation France in a breathless finish to win the final gold of the Games. The U.S. also won most total medals with 126 to China's 91.

France won 16 golds to finish fifth on the table and their total tally of 64 medals was their best for more than a century.

Running from July 26 to August 11, 2024, the Games celebrate athletic excellence, cultural heritage, and international unity.

On the opening day, 15 countries won medals, with 12 more joining the tally on the second day. India's Manu Bhaker secured a bronze medal in the women's 10m air pistol event. India won second bronze medal on day 4 while the third bronze came in the men's 50m rifle event. Over 60 countries have won a medal in the Paris Games. India bagged its first silver due to country's golden boy Neeraj Chopra. Additionally, Harmanpreet Singh-led men's hockey team clinched bronze against Spain.

India's sixth medal came from young Aman Sehrawat from wrestling.
