India's Olympic saga is set to commence from today following a dazzling opening ceremony. The Indian contingent in Paris will dive into action across seven sports with shooting, hockey, badminton, and tennis standing out.

The day will begin with rower Balraj Panwar competing in the single sculls heats at 12:30 PM IST.

Next, the focus will shift to shooting, starting with the 10m air rifle mixed team qualification at 12:30 PM IST. Teams featuring Sandeep Singh/Elavenil Valarivan and Arjun Babuta/Ramita Jindal will be in action.

A highlight of the day will be the first round of men's doubles tennis, featuring Rohan Bopanna and world No. 65 N. Sriram Balaji. Bopanna, having won the Australian Open men’s doubles with Matthew Ebden, will be aiming to build on his recent success and finally secure an Olympic medal, a goal he narrowly missed in Rio 2016.

Badminton action will commence at 7:00 PM IST. Key players include Commonwealth Games champion Lakshya Sen in men’s singles, the men’s doubles duo of Satwiksairaj Rankireddy and Chirag Shetty.

The hockey team will also begin their Olympic campaign today and are up against New Zealand.
