India in Paris has shattered Tokyo edition record by medal rush in three days with medal tally at historic 29 (seven golds, nine silvers and 13 bronze).

On the ninth day, High jumper bagged a gold medal in the T64 event as India won its sixth gold medal of the Games-the highest ever in a single edition.

On the seventh day, India bagged four medals which includes two gold and two silver. Para athlete Sachin Khilari finished second on the podium in men's Shotput F46 event followed by Harvinder Singh's historic gold in men's individual recurve.


The day ended for Indian contingent on a high as Dharambir and Pranav Soorma finished first and second respectively in Men's Club Throw finals.

India kickstarted their Paralympics campaign from August 29, and clinched its first two medals of the season on Day 2. While Shooter Avani Lekhara bagged a gold in 10m air rile, her partner Mona Agarwal secured the bronze medal.

In thrilling matches that were held simultaneously, Sharad Kumar won silver, Mariyappan Thangavelu clinched bronze in men's high jump T63 event. While in men's javelin throw F46 final, Ajeet Singh won silver, Sundar Gurjar settled for bronze.

The medal rush of Monday and Tuesday contributed 13 medals for the country, jumping medal tally from seven in starting days to record 20.

September 2 turned out to be historic for India as it bagged eight medals in one day with two golds, three silvers and three bronze. With Sumit Nagal's extraordinary performance, five badminton medals, archery and discus throw, the day turned out to be blockbuster in Paris.

Additionally, Kapil Parmar created history in Paris by winning bronze in Judo's 60 kg (J1) category.

In addition to 38-member para athletics team, India has strong representations in para badminton and para shooting, with 13 and 10 athletes, respectively, targeting podium finishes.

Notably, India will debut in para cycling, para judo, and para rowing at the Paralympic Games, marking a significant expansion of the nation’s sporting horizons.

Indian athletes will also participate in para archery, para canoe, para powerlifting, para swimming, para table tennis, and para taekwondo, demonstrating the country’s growing prowess across a diverse range of disciplines.
