Moqi (China), Sep 17 (IANS) Pakistan ended their campaign at the Hero Asian Champions Trophy with a 5-2 win against Korea, scoring them the bonze Medal here at the Moqi Hockey Training Base in the China Daur Ethnic Park on Tuesday.
The Pakistan Hockey Federation (PHF) announced on Wednesday that players and officials of the Pakistan hockey team will receive a reward of USD 100 each (Rs 8,000). This comes as a recognition of their efforts in securing a bronze medal at the Asian Champions Trophy. The team clinched third place by defeating Korea 5-2 in the bronze-medal match after a close semifinal against China.

PHF President Mir Tariq Bugti approved the special cash prize. The PHF's press release stated, "The cash award was intended to 'acknowledge and encourage' the team's performance during the tournament."

India won the Asian Champions Trophy title for the fifth time after defeating China.


Additionally, the PHF confirmed full support and rehabilitation for Abu Bakr Mahmood, who was injured during the event. The federation dedicated the bronze medal to player Ghazanfar Ali, who continued to play in the tournament despite his father's passing.
