Hughes, however, was wearing helmet and the bouncer hit him on the neck.
25-year old Phil Hughes lost his life after being hit on the neck by a bouncer during a Sheffield Shield match between South Australia and New South Wales on November 25, 2014 leaving him with a fractured skull. Hughes collapsed on the spot and was rushed to the hospital but despite surgery Hughes died two days later due to massive bleeding in his brain.
