India’s first, largest indoor go-karting track is coming as CSML bags Rs 24 crore order

Go-karting is getting a bigger indoor playground in India. Complete Sports and Management India Ltd (CSML) on Monday secured an order worth approximately Rs 24 crore from a large South India-based company to design, develop and construct what it called India’s first and largest indoor go-karting track. The project will cover the design, development, execution and construction of the facility, along with associated infrastructure and other requirements, CSML said in an exchange filing.

The company has not disclosed the name of the customer, location of the proposed facility or the execution timeline.

The order adds to CSML’s presence in sports, gaming, entertainment and recreational infrastructure as indoor leisure experiences gain ground across Indian cities.

What is go-karting?

Go-karting is a form of motorsport in which participants drive small, lightweight racing vehicles called go-karts around a dedicated track.

Unlike full-scale motorsport, go-karting is designed to make racing accessible to a wider audience. Tracks can range from compact indoor circuits to large outdoor layouts, with features such as sharp turns, hairpins, straight stretches and timing systems.

Indoor tracks offer another advantage: racing can be conducted in a controlled environment without being as dependent on weather conditions.

For recreational users, the attraction is mainly the speed, competition and the chance to race friends, family or other participants.

Why indoor go-karting is gaining traction?

India already has a growing network of go-karting venues, from rooftop circuits and airport-runway tracks to dedicated outdoor facilities.

32nd Milestone and F9 Go Karting in Gurugram, Smaaash in Mumbai, Kartainment in Hyderabad, Torq03 in Bengaluru, Downtown Racing in Pune and Kart Attack in Chennai are some of the top go-karting venues in India.

The variety of formats shows how go-karting has evolved beyond a niche motorsport activity into an entertainment experience. Indoor facilities can further widen that market by combining karting with other recreational infrastructure under one roof.

The proposed CSML project is now looking to take the concept indoors and at a significantly larger scale.

However, the company has not yet disclosed the proposed track's length, capacity, number of karts, location or other design specifications.

Rohit Rajesh Mathur, chairman and managing director of CSML, said the company was pleased to receive the order and described it as an important addition to its growing order book.

“With an order value of approximately Rs 24 crore, this project is an important addition to our growing order book and reflects the confidence placed in CSML’s capabilities,” Mathur said.

He added that the company would look to successfully execute the project while continuing to expand its presence in entertainment and recreational infrastructure.
