Indian trio, consisting of Pranavi Sharath Urs, Aditi Ashok, and Diksha Dagar, clinched a historic silver medal

India's women's golf trio of Pranavi Sharath Urs, Aditi Ashok and Diksha Dagar clinched a historic team silver at the 2026 Asian Games on Saturday, finishing on 14-under 546 behind gold medallists China.

China won the team event at 22-under after four rounds at the Kasugai Country Club East Course. India's three Olympic-level campaigners held on to second place on the final day.

Pranavi's gold lifts the team

Pranavi led India's charge with a 15-under 265 in the individual stroke play event. She won the individual gold and became the first Indian woman to do so at the Asian Games. She finished one stroke clear of Singapore's Shannon Xuan Yin Tan and China's Yin Ruoning, who share the silver on 14-under. Pranavi sealed the title with a par putt on the 18th hole.

India had won seven golf medals at the Asian Games before this edition, three gold and four silver. The men's team has not reached the podium since 2010.
