India's Praveen Chitravel and Selva Prabhu Thirumaran won the silver and bronze medals respectively in the men's triple jump at the Commonwealth Games on Saturday, adding two more medals to the country's athletics tally.

Asian Games bronze medallist Chitravel produced a best jump of 16.58m to finish second, improving on his previous Commonwealth Games performance. Selva Prabhu secured the bronze with an effort of 16.52m, earning the first major international medal of his career.

Jamaica's Jordan Scott clinched the gold medal with a winning jump of 16.72m.

Earlier in the para athletics competition, India's Ramesh Shanmugam finished seventh in the men's T54 1500m final after clocking 3:23.59.
