Pakistan were left frustrated after their previous outing against England was abandoned due to rain. The Asian side had done well to restrict England to 133 for nine in a rain-shortened 31-over match and were comfortably placed at 34 for no loss in 6.4 overs, chasing a revised target of 113, before the weather intervened once again.


The washout robbed Pakistan of a strong chance to secure their first win and left them rooted to the bottom of the points table with three losses and one no-result from four matches.

New Zealand, the 2000 champions, currently sit just outside the top four with three points from as many games. After consecutive defeats to Australia and South Africa, they regained momentum with a win over Bangladesh, only for rain to interrupt their campaign again in the abandoned clash against Sri Lanka.

With tough fixtures against India and England looming on October 23 and 26, the White Ferns will be eager for a full contest on Saturday to keep their semifinal hopes alive.

Pakistan, meanwhile, will take confidence from their disciplined bowling display against England, where captain Fatima Sana starred with four wickets and left-arm spinner Sadia Iqbal added two more to put their side in a commanding position before rain washed away their hopes.
