But the winners have been left out of this year's tournament which begins tomorrow here after they failed to meet stringent club licensing criteria.

MARGAO: The All India Football Federation( AIFF) has ordered for a new trophy amid concerns that they may not get the original Federation Cup back from churchill Brothers.

Churchill Brothers won the Federation Cup in January this year after they got the better of Sporting Clube de Goa in the final in Kochi.

But the winners have been left out of this year's tournament which begins tomorrow here after they failed to meet stringent club licensing criteria.

"We have written a letter to Churchill Brothers to return the trophy and if they don't we will take appropriate decision against them," AIFF director(Competitions) Anil Kamat said.

"Now that we have found new sponsorer, Hero Motorcorp, we want to have a new trophy which will be designend by them," said Kamat.

Churchill Brothers patron, Churchill Alemao is angry and unwilling to return the trophy back after they have been denied the right to defend the trophy they won in early this year.
