New India coach will be announced this evening: Sourav Ganguly
Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus and Eric Simmons are the six applicants who will be interviewed.

Speaking before he entered the office, Ganguly said the announcement of the new coach would be made this evening.
Ravi Shastri, Virender Sehwag, Tom Moody, Lalchand Rajput, Richard Pybus and Eric Simmons are the six applicants who will be interviewed, with former South African all-rounder Lance Klusener kept on stand-by.
The coach's position was vacant after the Champions Trophy, as Anil Kumble resigned, citing difference with captain Virat Kohli, that were beyond repair. Various report over the past few days have suggested that Shastri is the favourite to take the job, with Kohli's unflinching backing for him.
Shastri had been Team Director till the end of the 2016 ICC World T20, following which Kumble was appointed, following a series of interviews by the CAC. Shastri was among the applicants then but Ganguly was peeved that he gave his interview through video conferencing from Thailand instead of being physically present.
Speaking to TV channels, Shastri said he hoped that petty issues would not come in the way of any appointment made by the CAC.
The Indian team only lost one Test in Kumble's tenure, winning 12 out of the 17 Test matches they played in that time.
