National tennis championship from October 5 in New Delhi

NEW DELHI: The 21st edition of the National Hard Court Tennis Championship, Fenesta Open, will be held here from October 5, with winners to get wild cards for the 2016 Delhi Open.

The junior championship (U-18) will be played on the same dates while Under-16 and Under 14 championships will be played simultaneously from October 12-17.

The winners of Under 18 event will get a wild card for Delhi Open Qualifiers and winners of U-16 will get main draw wild card for Asian Junior championship, to be held in April 2016.

"We are committed to encourage young and talented tennis players in India and give them a platform from which they can move on to higher levels. We have received an overwhelming response from the young talent year after year," Ajay S. Shriram, Chairman and Senior Managing Director, DCM Shriram Ltd. was quoted as saying in a press release.
