Mohun Bagan look to keep AFC top position

Bagan have been on a roll this season -unbeaten in 11 matches in the I-League and winning their first two continental AFC Cup matches (one in India, one away). The Kolkata club has scored easy victories over Maziya Sports & Recreation form the Maldives and South China of Hong Kong to top Group G.
They had an easy game in their opening match as they drubbed Maziya Sports & Recreation 5-2 in Guwahati on February 24 before thrashing South China on May 9 in their first away match of the tournament.
Bagan are understandably high on confidence, but they will have to guard against complacency in today's match -expected to be the toughest of their campaign so far. Yangon United are in second spot in the group with one win (against South China) and a draw (against Maziya Sports & Recreation).
Bagan are also without Trinidadian striker Cornell Glen, who suffered a groin injury during the side's 2-0 win over Mumbai FC in their last I-League match, though the Mariners will welcome back coach Sanjoy Sen to the dugout. He has been handed an eight-match domestic ban by the AIFF for his comments made against the governing body.
A win would increase their (six points) lead over Yangon United (four) to five and would virtually guarantee the Indian side a place in the knockout phase of the continent's second tier club competition. They are playing in Guwahati as the Salt Lake Stadium in Kolkata has been locked down in view of preparations for next year's FIFA Under-17 World Cup.
