Australian selectors named a 15-man squad that will take on India in three ODIs starting from October 19. They also announced a 14-member squad for the first two T20I that follow.

Mitchell Marsh will lead the ODI team in the absence of Pat Cummins, who is recovering form lumber bone stress in preparation for the Ashes later this year.

Mitchell Starc makes an ODI comeback and is set to play his first international match of the Australian summer. Meanwhile, uncapped batter Mathew Renshaw has been included in the squad at the expense of Marnus Labuschagne. Further, Mitchell Owen is also in line to make his debut in the format.

The two batters could be set for contrasting middle-order roles as Australia's ODI side begin somewhat of a rebuild ahead of the 2027 World Cup following the recent retirements of Steve Smith, Glenn Maxwell and Marcus Stoinis.

Cricket Australia said that wicketkeeper Alex Carey will join only from the second ODI as he will play in South Australia's Sheffield Shield match against Queensland at Adelaide Oval on October 15, having missed the Shield title-holder's opening round game. He has been dropped from the T20I squad as Josh Inglis makes a return from injury.

Meanwhile, veteran all-rounder Glenn Maxwell also misses out from the T20I team as he is recovering from a surgery.

Cameron Green, who has had a stellar year with the bat, has not been named in the T20 squad and will continue his build up to the first Test against England on November 21 with his state team following the ODI series.
