Mary Kom and other top pugilists arrive in Meghalaya

SHILLONG: Top pugilists of the country, including Olympic bronze-medallist M C Mary Kom, has arrived here for the trial for the upcoming 12th South Asian Games scheduled in February.

Mary Kom, who visited the Training Hall at SAI Complex for her practice today, expressed satisfaction with the preparation.

Meghalaya Boxing Association president John F Kharshiing, secretary Larry Kharpran and coach Torak Kharpran officially welcomed the pugilists.

Residents of Mawlai area also gathered in huge number to get a glimpse of the Manipuri woman boxer, an Olympian and five-time world champion.

Other boxers are also warming up at different locations preparing for the national trial selection scheduled to start from tomorrow till January 22 at the SAI Center here.
