IPL 2025, LSG vs DC: KL Rahul, Mitchell Starc and Nicholas Pooran, key players to watch out for in today's match

Lucknow Super Giants take on Delhi Capitals at the Ekana Stadium at 7:30 pm on Tuesday. The two teams are placed fifth and and second respectively, with five wins each. While LSG have played eight matches, DC have played one match less.

Hosts LSG, led by Rishabh Pant, won by 2 runs in their previous match against Rajasthan Royals. The team has been dependent on the top order, including Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh and Nicholas Pooran. Lower-middle order batters like Ayush Badoni and Abdul Samad have provided strong finishes. However, Pant’s poor form continues to remain a concern.

The bowling department has been looking good with pacers Shardul Thakur and Avesh Khan getting wickets at regular intervals, while spinners Ravi Bishnoi and Digvesh Rathi have created a partnership which batters have found difficult to get away with. Pacer Mayank Yadav, who missed all the games so far, might come back after recovering from an injury.


DC, on the other hand, enter the match after a seven wicket loss to Gujarat Titans. The visitors have won on the back of impressive performances from the middle order, led by KL Rahul, captain Axar Patel and Tristan Stubbs.The team would be eagerly waiting for the return of Faf du Plessis.

The bowling has been DC’s stronger suit, with Mitchell Starc and Mukesh Kumar doing their job brilliantly, both with the new ball and the death overs. Axar Patel and Kuldeep Yadav have been hard to get away with in the middle overs and the addition of Vipraj Nigam has given a new dimension to the attack.

The team winning today will reach top 2 on the points table, strengthening the playoff chances.
