Cricket World Cup: Virat Kohli, Shubman Gill shine in India's comprehensive win against Bangladesh

Stylish India opener Shubman Gill (53; 55b) slammed his 10th ODI half century and gave India a perfect start with captain Rohit Sharma (48; 40b) on Thursday against Bangladesh. The rest is done by Virat Kohli, who slammed his 48th ODI hundred and remained unbeaten on 103 (97b; 6x4, 4x2) as the hosts completed the task in of chasing 256 in 41.3 overs.

With this victory, India have remained unbeaten in this Cricket World Cup so far, with four victories in as many matches.

Earlier, seasoned campigner Mushfiqur Rahim's gritty 38 (46) and Mahmudullah's power-hitting helped Bangladesh put 256/8 on board in their 50 overs.


Opener Litton Das top-scored for Bangladesh with 66 off 82 balls, while Tanzid Hasan struck a brisk 43-ball-51 in a first-wicket partnership of 93 at the Maharashtra Cricket Association Stadium.

Bangladesh suffered a mid-innings slump, losing four wickets for 36 runs after a solid start.

The seasoned Mushfiqur Rahim steadied the innings with a 38-run knock, before Mahmudullah Riyadh contributed a breezy 36-ball 46.

Ravindra Jadeja, Mohammed Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah picked up two wickets each for India. Hardik Pandya limped off the field after sustaining an ankle injury while bowling.
