Indian opener KL Rahul slammed a magnificent century in the first Test against West Indies at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Friday. Upon reaching the milestone, Rahul unveiled a new celebration.

He reached the milestone in 190 balls in an innings that included 12 fours. Rahul's ton was his first in the Test format at home since 2016, breaking a nine year. This is only his second century at home, but the 11th Test century overall.

Rahul continued his good form from England, where he scored more than 500 runs, including two centuries and two half centuries.

Batting on 53 when he started Day 2, Rahul played a steady knock to lead India past 200 at lunch. He was supported by skipper Shubman Gill, who scored 50 runs before being dismissed by counterpart Roston Chase.

India went into lunch at 218/3, leading by 56 runs on Day 2.
