Earlier today, KKR head coach Abhishek Nayar had downplayed any talk of “nervousness” around the dressing room, stressing that the focus was on controlling what is in their hands and playing the “best cricket that we can”.

He also underlined that even beyond qualification pressure, there was still plenty at stake. “Imagine a player, someone getting a 100 tomorrow! When you play a game of cricket, everything is valuable, everything is a number, everything is a victory,” Nayar said.

Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, are already mathematically eliminated from the playoff race following earlier results.
