The committee submitted its application in the matter to the Supreme Court on Monday and is likely to come up in court later this week.
The board has its annual general meeting planned in September this year and recommendations from the Lodha committee are now not likely to be revealed by then.
The mandate of the committee was mainly to set the quantum of punishment for Raj Kundra, Gurunath Meiyappan and the two franchises that they were part of. In its order last week, the committee had suspended Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals for two years and banned CSK team principal Gurunath Meiyappan and Raj Kundra of Rajasthan Royals from any association with the sport for life, throwing the BCCI into a tizzy.
Since then there have been speculations that BCCI could look at either auctioning two more teams in the absence of CSK and RR or look at running these teams itself for two years till their original owners are allowed back. It was expected that the IPL governing council could decide to terminate the two teams in its meeting on July 19 but that did not happen immediately as the council choose to study the verdict further and formed a committee that will give its recommendations in six weeks.
