Third Test so far
India ended Day 4 at 252/9 in the first innings of the third Test against Australia at GABBA, Brisbane. The visitors avoided follow-on courtesy an unbeaten 39-run partnership between tailenders Jaspirt Bumrah and Akash Deep for the tenth wicket. The two joined hands after the ninth wicket fell when India still needed 32 runs to avoid batting again, in reply to Australia's 445.
The visitors trail Aussies by 193 runs. But they wouldn't mind that one bit as Australia will now have to bat again and forcing a result in three sessions looks an improbable target, considering the Brisbane weather pattern.
Jadeja brought up his 22nd fifty in Test cricket off 89 balls and the innings was also dotted with sweep shots that he effectively employed against off-spinner Nathan Lyon.
