India's victory in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa wasn't just about the perfect execution on the big day, but a culmination of meticulous preparation spanning the past three years, emotional skipper Rohit Sharma emphasized. "Last night, I couldn't sleep as I was desperate and wanted it so badly. But I managed myself well inside the ground," Rohit said, reflecting on the triumph that ended India's decade-long trophy drought.

Speaking about the team's journey, Rohit highlighted, "A lot behind the scenes, not what we did today, it's what we did before."

Acknowledging the pressure that comes with such high-stakes games, Rohit credited the team's resilience under pressure, stating, "Guys understand when the pressure is on, what needs to be done, today was a perfect example, we stuck together with backs to the wall."

The skipper also attributed the success to the collective efforts of the team management and players, remarking, "Very proud of the bunch of boys and the management, giving us the liberty to play and that trust."

Reflecting on his partnership with Virat Kohli, Rohit expressed confidence despite Kohli's recent form concerns, stating, "Come the occasion, big players stand up. Crucial to hold that end, for the others to play around him."

Praising Jasprit Bumrah's performance, Rohit admitted, "Jasprit, I understand you guys trying to put it into words, but I don't know how he does it, it's just masterclass."
