The hill town's neighbourhood is currently facing heightened security restrictions amid ongoing Indo-Pak border tensions. Dharamsala's match was called off midway following air raid alerts in nearby cities of Jammu and Pathankot.
IPL chairman Arun Dhumal confirmed to PTI that both teams will travel by road to Pathankot, which is approximately 85 kilometres from Dharamsala and then reach Delhi via train.
This shift in travel plans comes as airports in Dharamsala, Kangra, and Chandigarh remain shut as a precautionary measure following Pakistani drone and missile activity in Northern and Western India.
As per an ANI report, around 300 people including support staff and broadcasters will be travelling via special Vande Bharat train to Delhi.

Dhumal said government directives are being awaited before deciding on whether to continue with the league amid the escalating tensions with Pakistan. However, in a positive news, Friday's match between Lucknow Super Giants and Royal Challengers Bengaluru "is on as of now".
"We are reviewing the situation right now. It is an evolving situation. We haven't received any directive from the government. Obviously the decision will be taken keeping all the logistics in mind," Dhumal told PTI.
