Ben Duckett has not played in the Indian Premier League, having gone unsold at multiple IPL auctions despite his experience in T20 cricket. The England left-hander has registered for the IPL on more than one occasion but has not been picked by any franchise so far, leaving him without an IPL debut. Delhi Capitals contacted him to replace the departed Harry Brook, but Duckett declined the offer. He had entered the auction with a base price of ₹2 crore.

In Test cricket, he has played 40 matches, scoring 2,936 runs at an impressive average of 41.35, including six centuries and 16 half-centuries, underlining his ability to perform over long innings.
