IPL 2025 Auction: Sunrisers Hyderabad make smart bidding moves to bolster their chances to win the coveted title; here's the full player list

Sunrisers Hyderabad made their first buy in the IPL 2025 Auction with Mohammed Shami. He will partner Pat Cummins in the franchise. The team also bought another speedster in Harshal Patel, completing a pace trio.

The franchise bought leg spinners in Rahul Chahar and Adam Zampa for Rs 3.20 crore and Rs 2.40 crore, respectively.

SRH have retained five players including Heinrich Klaasen, Travis Head, Pat Cummins, Abhishek Sharma, and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

The runners-up of the previous IPL season, SRH, had a rough stretch from 2021 to 2023, finishing eighth in 2021, eighth again in 2022, and 10th in 2023. However, they made a strong comeback in 2024. With an aggressive approach, SRH dominated IPL 2024, becoming a nightmare for opposition bowlers when in full form. They set a new record for the highest first innings score, breaking it three times during the season - primarily due to hard-hitting batting by Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Heinrich Klaasen.


Despite having a relatively quiet fanbase compared to some other franchises, SRH has always been highly regarded for its strategic approach to auctions and squad composition. These factors played a key role in their success, including their historic IPL title win in 2016 under the leadership of David Warner, one of the franchise's standout figures.
