Over 1,200 players have registered for the IPL 2022 player auction scheduled to be held in Bengaluru next month, the BCCI said in a press statement on Saturday. The 15th edition of the world’s richest T20 league will be a 10-team affair with the inclusion of the two new franchises.

The eight teams that were part of the previous IPL edition were asked to retain a maximum of four players and release the rest for the auction. To provide the two new franchises a level playing field, they were allowed to pick a maximum of the three players each before the auction. Starting from the scratch, all 10 franchises will look to strengthen their side in the auction slated to be held on February 12 and 13.

This is the initial list of players, which will be sent to all the teams. The franchises will then revert with the names of the players they are interested in. Based on their inputs, the list will then be pruned for the auction.
