IPL auction 2017: 5 Indian marquee players who went unsold
NEW DELHI: While this year's IPL auction saw some frenzied bidding for unknown players, there were no takers for some famous names. Here are five marquee Indian players who missed the auction buzz:

Irfan Pathan: The southpaw with a base price of Rs 50 lakh went unsold. Injuries and a string of poor performances went against him. Pathan started his IPL career with Kings XI Punjab and has played for Chennai Super Kings and Devil Daredevils.

Ishant Sharma: A hefty base price of Rs 2 crore wasn't enough to get the right-arm fast-medium bowler some buyers. He was last name in pacers section. Sharma started his carrer with Deccan Chargers and played his last season with the new IPL franchise, Rising Pune Supergiants.

Pragyan Ojha: The slow left-arm orthodox bowler and the only spinner to win the IPL purple cap also didn't get any buyer. His base price was Rs 30 lakh. Ojha started his IPL career with Deccan chargers and has picked 11 wickets in 13 games.

Unmukt Chand: Came with a base price of Rs 30 lakh. The Delhi opener, who led the winning under-19 Indian team in 2012, started his IPL career with Delhi Daredevils.

Cheteshwar Pujara: Didn't find a buyer for the second straight season. Pujara, with a base price of Rs 50 lakh, has been the mainstay of the Indian Test team but that, it seems, wasn't enough for the buyer list.
