Rajasthan Royals produced a clinical run chase to defeat Punjab Kings by six wickets in a high-scoring Indian Premier League contest on Tuesday, getting over the line with four balls to spare.

Punjab Kings made full use of the conditions after being sent in, building a formidable total through a mix of stability and late aggression. Prabhsimran Singh provided the early impetus with a confident half-century, before Marcus Stoinis shifted gears dramatically at the death, hammering an unbeaten 62 off just 22 deliveries to lift the side to 222 for 4.

In reply, Rajasthan Royals approached the chase with clarity and depth, ensuring the asking rate never spiralled out of control. Yashasvi Jaiswal anchored the top order with a measured 51, while Donovan Ferreira delivered a decisive finishing act, remaining unbeaten on 52 as the Royals surged past the target in 19.2 overs.

With the ball, leg-spinner Yash Punja made timely breakthroughs for Rajasthan, picking up two wickets, whereas Yuzvendra Chahal led Punjab’s bowling effort with three scalps, though he could not prevent the eventual outcome.

Punjab Kings ended on 222 for 4 in their 20 overs, powered by Prabhsimran’s 59 and Stoinis’ unbeaten 62, while Yash Punja returned figures of 2 for 41. Rajasthan Royals responded with 228 for 4 in 19.2 overs, with Jaiswal scoring 51 and Ferreira finishing unbeaten on 52, as Chahal claimed 3 for 36.
