Delhi Capitals snapped their losing run in emphatic fashion on Friday, hunting down a daunting 226 to beat Rajasthan Royals by seven wickets in Jaipur.

The chase -their highest ever in the Indian Premier Pathum Nissankampleted with five balls to spare, marking a sharp turnaround after their previous collapse against Royal Challengers Bengaluru.

The foundation was laid early by KL Rahul and Pathum Nissanka, who took control from the outset with a fearless approach in the powerplay. The pair added 70 in the first six overs and stretched their opening stand to 110, putting Rajasthan immediately on the back foot.

Nissanka played the aggressor, carving out a fluent 62 off 33 balls, while Rahul anchored the innings with a composed 75.

Even after Nissanka’s dismissal, the tempo barely dipped. Nitish Rana chipped in with a brisk 33 off 17 balls to keep the chase on track.

Rajasthan managed to create a brief opening when Rahul fell in the 16th over, but Delhi still had the equation under control.

Parag, Ferreira power Royals to 225

Earlier, Rajasthan’s total of 225/6 looked more than competitive, built around a commanding innings from skipper Riyan Parag. Walking in after two early wickets, Parag steadied the innings before shifting gears, eventually striking 90 off 50 balls — his first major knock of the season.

Delhi’s bowlers endured a challenging evening, though Mitchell Starc made a strong impact on his return, picking up 3 for 40, including the key wicket of Parag to halt Rajasthan’s momentum in the closing overs.
