CSK Retention List: Rachin Ravindra, Devon Conway released ahead of IPL 2026, Jadeja traded out; check full list of retained players
CSK Retention List IPL 2026: Chennai Super Kings have released Devon Conway and Rachin Ravindra. This move signals a major team reset. The franchise is preparing for the IPL 2026 auction. Several other players were also released. This clears space...

CSK had signed Conway for Rs 6.25 crore and matched a Rs 4 crore bid to retain Rachin last year. Both struggled for consistent returns. Rachin made 191 runs in eight innings, while Conway scored 156 in six. The franchise is now shifting attention to younger batters added last season.
Conway had been a central figure since 2022, scoring 1,080 runs in 28 innings, including a strong 2023 season that helped CSK secure their fifth title. Rachin, who joined in 2024, made 413 runs across two seasons but missed out on building on his starts regularly.

Ravindra Jadeja’s exit marks the end of a long stint with CSK. Since 2012, he has been one of their most influential players, with brief spells away during suspensions and team reshuffles. Jadeja is the franchise’s leading wicket-taker with 143 wickets in 186 matches and also their highest run-scorer with 2,198 runs. He was retained for Rs 18 crore ahead of the 2025 mega auction and has featured in 254 IPL matches overall. His last-over finish in the 2023 final remains one of CSK’s defining moments.
Sam Curran, who has joined Rajasthan Royals, ends his latest spell with CSK after scoring 114 runs and taking a wicket in the previous season. Across 64 IPL matches, he has 997 runs and 59 wickets.
CSK Retained Players
- Sanju Samson (traded in)
In one of the league’s biggest trades, Rajasthan Royals sent Sanju Samson to CSK in exchange for Ravindra Jadeja and Sam Curran. Samson will play for CSK at his existing fee of Rs 18 crore. Jadeja’s fee has been revised to Rs 14 crore, while Curran moves at Rs 2.4 crore. Samson had been a long-term RR player, joining in 2013 and becoming a central figure for the franchise.
CSK’s decision to release Conway, Rachin and several domestic players, along with a landmark trade involving Jadeja and Curran, signals a major reset. The changes have opened substantial room for new combinations as the franchise prepares for the IPL 2026 auction and a broader rebuild.
