The bidding war spanned 86 intense rounds, with CSK and Sunrisers Hyderabad repeatedly trading the lead, pushing the price higher and higher in a see-saw duel that kept fans on the edge of their seats.
Other franchises, including Rajasthan Royals, Lucknow Super Giants, and Mumbai Indians, also joined the fray at various points, but it was CSK who ultimately clinched the deal, signalling their commitment to securing a young domestic talent.
Veer first made headlines while playing for Noida Super Kings in the UP T20 League. Over a gruelling seven-day stretch, he appeared in six matches across the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy and Uttar Pradesh’s Under‑23 fixtures, scoring 112 runs at a strike rate of 170 and claiming nine wickets at an economical 6.76.
